/ Designing a Dual-Platform Event Taxonomy for a Retail Banking App
The Challenge
A retail banking super app spanning dozens of financial products, from accounts and cards to credit and investments, needed consistent, validated tracking across both iOS and Android. No unified event taxonomy existed, and two separate tools, Firebase for product analytics and AppsFlyer for campaign attribution, had to stay in sync with each other and with the business logic behind each screen.
The Solution
Designed and documented a dual-platform event taxonomy organized by user flow, covering onboarding, authentication, biometric security (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint), profile management, and product origination. Defined 15K+ events and parameters, including dynamic parameters for reusable tracking logic across similar screens, and coordinated between business, development, and analytics teams to implement identical event definitions on both platforms.
The Impact
Validated tag accuracy through Firebase QA prior to launch, giving stakeholders a reliable, cross-platform view of user behavior across 60+ banking products, from login and identity verification through product origination, with clean attribution data feeding AppsFlyer for campaign performance reporting.
